First Anti-Racist Run in Barcelona

The street vendors of Barcelona have been fighting for their right to make a living in Barcelona for a long time. On 1 June 2025 – the 10th anniversary of the Barcelona street vendors' union Ande Dem they organize a run in the city. At a time when racism and hate speech seem to be spreading faster than ever, they want to send a message: for a more just and anti-racist society.

The run begins with the warning cry ‘AGUA’ – used by street vendors to warn each other of police checks. It is also the starting signal to run away from institutional racism.
